Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH)

The Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) is one of Germany’s youngest and most successful technical universities. Founded in 1978 to support the structural transformation of the region, it now has over 7,600 students and offers 14 bachelor’s, 18 master’s and 9 international master’s degree programmes taught in English. Since its inception, TUHH’s guiding principle has been to develop technology for people.

Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg)

With around 16,000 students, HAW Hamburg is one of the largest state universities of applied sciences in Germany. It offers more than 70 bachelor’s and master’s degree programmes in fields such as computer science, life sciences, aviation and vehicle systems, health, design, media, engineering and social work. HAW Hamburg is characterised by practice-oriented courses, innovative teaching concepts and application-driven research that addresses the social challenges of our time.

Helmut Schmidt University (HSU)

Helmut Schmidt University (HSU) stands for excellent research, modern teaching and outstanding technical facilities. It maintains close links with universities, non-university research institutions and industry throughout the Hamburg metropolitan region and is active in interdisciplinary research fields such as sustainable energy supply, materials research and aviation technology.

As a partner in the Hamburg Aviation Cluster and various research associations, HSU contributes to bridging science and practice.

Hamburg Institute for Vocational Education and Training (HIBB)

The Hamburg Institute for Vocational Education and Training (HIBB) is an independent state agency under the Ministry of Education, Family and Vocational Training (BSFB). It unites 29 state vocational schools and a central office. The central office’s responsibilities include managing, advising and supporting schools, supervising them, and further developing vocational education and training across Hamburg.

Around 3,000 employees work for the HIBB – most of them teachers or educational specialists – and some 45,500 students attend its vocational schools in the areas of vocational training, continuing education, training preparation and higher-education entrance qualifications.

The Hamburg Institute for Vocational Education and Training is a founding member of HCAT+.

Nordmetall e. V.

The employers’ association NORDMETALL represents 290 companies in the metal and electrical industries across Bremen, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Schleswig-Holstein and north-western Lower Saxony. These companies form the “heart of the economy” – including those from the aircraft, mechanical and plant engineering, shipbuilding and automotive sectors, as well as the electrical and medical technology industries, metal production and metal processing. Together they employ around 140,000 people and play a key role in securing the region’s economic future.

Hanse-Aerospace e.V.

The Hamburg-based business association Hanse-Aerospace e.V. represents the interests of more than 160 small and medium-sized enterprises, institutes and universities in the aerospace industry. Its members cover all areas of aviation and many areas of space travel.

With its own job exchange and continuing-education platform, the association offers a wide range of career and development opportunities within the industry.

HECAS e.V.

HECAS e.V. (Hanseatic Engineering & Consulting Association) represents more than 3,500 highly qualified engineers and technicians from various fields of aviation, mechanical and plant engineering, and the supply industry. The association’s goal is to unite the interests of its members, promote their expertise and drive innovation in the Hamburg region.

HECAS e.V. is a member of HCAT+ and plays an active role in advancing skills and qualifications beyond the aviation sector.
